Darryl Wills (Hillenburg Racing) not only became the 2010 Champion of the FCC-Southwest, but also brought home the “top crown of them all” by winning the 2010 SCCA Runoffs. Wills was the first SW Division driver to win the Runoffs in FM. In the 2010 FCC - Southwest, Wills had 10 Wins with Davis Parr winning 3. Wills had 11 Poles with Parr getting 2. George Jackson was the only other driver besides Wills and Parr to get the Fastest Race Lap. Darryl Wills had 11, Parr had 1, and Jackson got 1 at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. Stuart Rettie cleaned house in the Awards category this year. He finished 3rd overall in the Series and won the Masters Championship and Rookie of the Year. Total cash and prizes awarded in the 2010 FCC – Southwest totaled $24,031 with $9400 being cash. Total awarded over the 13 year history of the Series (including SW PFM) is $489,000 in cash and contingencies. 2011 should put us over the $500,000 mark. How exciting! 2011 also looks to be a very good year with most drivers returning and lots of interest from new racers and current racers considering a class change. This was the 13th year of the Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear Southwest (formerly known as the Southwest Formula Mazda Series) and it proved to be one of the best. We had some very good racing with lots of camaraderie amongst a great bunch of guys. We had 19 drivers join the Series and an average of 8.8 drivers at each event.
